Mid Victorian Crucifix Locket Pendant Swiss Originally it would have beenDATE: Victorian, 1861 An incredible mid Victorian crucifix pendant with inscription and hinged locket compartment to the reverse. The engraving reads: EAP pie' obiit 10th Februarii 1861 Cujus animae Lucem tuum da Jesu et Requiem. Which translates from Latin as "E. A. P. died piously on 10th February 1861. Give the light of your soul to Jesus and Rest". The Christ figure is rendered in 3D, finely detailed in contrast with the matte, clean edged cross.
